Future Champions Show Sunday August 5th, 2007The Koi Society of Australia held it's Future Champions Show on Sunday August 5th, 2007 at Flower Power Nursery, Campbelltown.
97 of Australia's best and most beautiful koi were on display to the public competing for top honors in variety and champion awards. For the competition purposes, koi were placed into the varieties, Kohaku, Sanke, Showa, Metallic, non-Metallic and Ginrin. Sizes were kept to 10cm - 25cm. There were 26 entrants and every branch of the KSA was represented.
The show was judged by ZNA Certified Judge, Ms Kate McGill.
The show Grand Champion was awarded to a lovely Kohaku owned by Terry McNeil. Reserve Champion honours went to John Harriman with a nice Kohaku.

It was also decided to give Special Awards to koi for particular mention. These were

Congratulations to all winners and to those who worked behind the scenes to make the show happen.
Formed in 1974, the Koi Society of Australia is dedicated to the protection, preservation and improvement of koi. An annual show is one of several events organised to educate members and the general public on the finer aspects of koi appreciation. The society holds regular monthly meetings, information days, auctions and publishes a monthly magazine to provide information on responsible koi keeping under Australian conditions. Seven local branches exist throughout Sydney and other areas of New South Wales to encourage an atmosphere of friendship and the common enjoyment of the hobby.
